The mystical path swerves and turns with the flute as the breath, and the drum, the heart beat. The voice that is the conduit of the soul finds a resting place in poetry.

Clara Hsu and Bill Mercer first met at Clara's music shop in San Francisco. They were surprised when they ran into each other at various poetry reading venues. Since 2005 Clara and Bill have formed a partnership in reading poetry with musical instruments, such as the Japanese bamboo flute shakuhachi, singing bowl and hand drum. Lunation performs in bookstores, cafes, libraries, museums and churches in the San Francisco Bay Area.
